Jimmy Fallon, host of the Tonight Show, revealed that he had aped into the collection. He went on to announce his purchase of Bored Ape #599.
In November, Fallon announced the purchase of about $224,000 worth of ETH to his 51 million Twitter followers and captioned the image, ‘Permission to come a bored?’ He most recently announced that he is also venturing into Mutant Apes as well.
Stephen Curry is among the most prominent athlete to have bought the BAYC NFT.
The Holey Moley TV show co-creator and three-time NBA champion snagged his Board ape NFT for about $180,000 worth of ETH at the time of purchase. Shortly after the purchase, he was seen hanging out on the project’s official Discord server.
The latest addition to this list, rapper Post Malone has changed his Twitter profile picture to a Bored App today. MoonPay, a crypto payments processor posted a tiktok video over the weekend, teasing him for buying a Bored Ape and chatting about it.
The crypto payments processor also handled Fallon’s purchase, potentially as part of a celebrity marketing campaign. Malone seemed delighted from the video, though he is yet to say a word about the acquisition.
Legendary hip-hop producer, Timbaland, has also aped into the bored ape yacht club after launching his own Ethereum music NFTs that you can mix and match together.
His Twitter profile picture revealed that he has Bored Ape #590. He only recently launched Ape-In Productions which will develop virtual music groups and animation featuring avatars fr BkrBkred Ale NFTs.
The chaimsmokers have invested in several startups while also being active in the crypto space for a while now. In September, the DJ producing duo aped into the Bored ape NFT at a price of about $210,000. They’ve been on a rather long Twitter break since early 2020; however, that didn’t stop them from changing their Twitter avatar to the Bored Ape NFT.
The DJ known fondly known for his mask-wearing appearances aped into the space in September with the purchase of a rainbow-teeth NFT for an estimated worth of $220,000 worth of ETH at the time. Marsh has also tweeted about CrypToadz, meaning that he could possibly be testing the waters with other NFT projects.
Social media influencer, Logan Paul, is going big on NFTs, just like his brother, Jake. He seems to be limited to CryptoPunks, possessing a handful and even turning one into jewelry. However, he also has a Bored ape wallet and a bunch of knock-offs which were likely sent to his wallet unprompted.
He possesses more than 4,000 NFTs in his wallet with a consistent stream sent in by partners trying to increase their projects.
Linkin Park rapper and solo musician, Mike Shinoda, does not only collect NFTs and showcases them through his Audius profile (including numerous Mutant Apes). He also creates his own. He has released a bunch of NFTs, specifically through Tezos marketplace, Hic et Nunc, which had been recently-shuttered.
Shinoda usually streams frequently via Twitch and releases NFT of artwork created on stream. He is also very keen on the future of crypto.
Retired four-time NBA champion, Shaquille, owns an NFT from the spinoff collections, Mutant Ape Hatch Club. In September, he bought the Mutant ape at a relatively cheap price of #14,000 worth of ETH. His OpenSea wallet name is ‘manofdominance’, reflecting his famous larger-than-life attitude.
Momentarily, Shaw used a Creature World NFT as his Twitter avatar while he also launched his own NFTs through the Eternity Chain platform.
