Timothy Hood also known as Lil Rottie just dropped the visual for his latest single ‘Destiny.’ The song and music video both represent the trials and tribulations that he went through to reach his destiny in life.
He goes on to mention what life was like growing up in the ‘dark side of New Jersey’ and how it encouraged him to want to be more than just an artist. He says “I want my music to be something people can resonate with. I don’t want to be just ‘Lil Rottie’ the artist, but an artist that makes a cultural impact too.”
He talked about how he recently moved to Las Vegas to start building an image for himself and to be closer to his current label and more opportunities. This move also allows him to give music his undivided attention.
We asked him who produces and engineers his music and he told us “I was tired of looking for beats that matched my style so I taught myself how to produce music so now I write, produce and engineer all of my music.” He mentioned how that is one of his biggest strengths that make him stand out the most from other artists.
Rottie said he’s most inspired by Juice WRLD and Lil Durk because of “the melodies they create and the lyrics they put on a song can’t be matched.” He says that music has been powerful and influential to him his whole life, which is why he started making music at 12 years old. He hopes to move people with his music one day (like many artists have done to him) and to give his family a better life.
We asked him what his plans for 2022 are and he said that he has a new single on the way featuring a very well known artist but wouldn’t reveal which artist yet!
